Jeffrey Bean is an Assistant Professor of English at Central Michigan University. He earned a Bachelor of Music from Oberlin College and an M.F.A. from the University of Alabama. Dr. Bean held the Axton Fellowship in Poetry from 2006 through 2008. His poems have appeared or are forthcoming in the journals Slate.com, FIELD, Subtropics, Salt Hill, New Orleans Review, The New York Quarterly, and Willow Springs, among many others. His first collection, Diminished Fifth, was published by David Robert Brooks in September 2009.
