Axton Festival - The Story of Form. A Talk and Reading with Yuriy Tarnawsky, followed by a discussion.
Do visual artists, musicians, pastry artists and writers share any notions of form? Are there similarities between a painter's formal decisions and a baker's? Between a jazz composer's and a fiction writer's? On Thursday, April 1, and Friday, April 2, the 2010 Axton Literacy Festival, The Story of Form, will examine these questions. Paying particular attention to the formal possibilities of fiction, the festival will explore forms across the arts, beginning with a reading of mininovel by the Ukrainian writer Yuriy Tarnawsky. Following his reading, Mr. Taranwsky will lead a discussion on his use of form, and other festival events will continue the exploration.
