Assistant Professor of Creative Writing
The Department of English at the University of Louisville invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Creative Writing, specialization in fiction, with position to begin in Fall 2015.
The successful candidate will hold an MFA or PhD at time of appointment, and will have published at least one book of fiction with a press of national standing. Teaching load will be appropriate to a research institution; salary competitive. Desirable areas of secondary specialization include playwriting/screenwriting and/or graphic narrative. Course assignments will include multi-genre creative writing workshops through the graduate level, upper level fiction writing electives, literature courses, and undergraduate writing (which all professorial faculty teach).

Thruston B. Morton Chair
The Department of English invites applications for the Thruston B. Morton Chair in American and/or English Literatures to begin Fall 2015. Specific field is less important than a Ph.D. at time of appointment, a substantial record of scholarly achievement, an active research agenda, and a strong record of teaching. We seek a colleague who will take an active role in the intellectual life of a diverse department with a tradition of interdisciplinary collaborations across the university. Expectations include three courses per year over two semesters, direction of undergraduate and graduate students. The Morton Endowment provides funding for a competitive salary and supports travel/research.
