Admission to Undergraduate Education Programs at the University of Louisville

The first steps for students considering undergraduate admission into the College of Education & Human Development are as follows:

  • Visit Undergraduate Admissions office to learn more about UofL, degree programs, financial aid, housing, etc.
  • Complete an application form at the Applying for Admission web page.
  • Teacher education programs at the undergraduate level will require a second tier admission process typically referred to as Admission to Initial Teacher Certification. This second admission layer usually takes place between the sophomore and junior year of most students. Admissions to our Undergraduate Initial Teacher Certification programs are competitive.

Bachelor Degree Programs

Admission to Graduate Education Programs at the University of Louisville

Graduate programs at the College of Education & Human Development are diverse in their scope within the social and cultural structures within our community. Our hallmark is education within the community, our vision is about shaping tomorrow.

Beyond an array of teacher education programs, the College of Education & Human Development offers Masters and Doctoral programs in health sciences; sport and educational administration; higher education; and community-based programs in special education and counseling. The College also offers the Education Specialist degree in Educational Administration.

Admission to most teacher education programs will be two-fold.

  • applicants will need to submit an online graduate application to the University of Louisville's Graduate School.
  • a supplemental teacher education application must be submitted directly to the Education Admissions office and additional qualification and pre-requisites may apply.
