MTRP Programs

Middle School Teaching Awareness Program (MSTAP)

The MSTAP works with select teachers in participating schools to encourage seventh and eighth graders who express an interest in teaching. Students shadow educators, teach mini-lessons, compete in essay contests, visit college campuses, and more.

High School Teacher/Mentor Program (HSTMP)

HSTMP identifies high school students who are interested in teaching and pairs them with a teacher-mentor. We also sponsor a parent night to share information on minority teacher shortages, career choices, and college admission requirements.

Post High School Participant Program (PHSPP)

PHSPP helps high school graduates interested in teaching but who need assistance in meeting college entrance requirements, through counseling, advising, and professional development seminars.

Post Baccalaureate and Alternative Certification

This program helps nontraditional students and professionals who are changing careers enter the teaching profession. They receive comprehensive support (i.e., financial, academic, advising, workshops).
