The special projects within the CEHD have a mission related to research, service, instruction or a combination of these activities. They may also have several initiatives that fall within its specialization.

Black Family in America Conference

The Black Family in America Conference has given inspiration, enlightenment, crucial information, and tremendous direction to thousands who have been concerned with the condition of the Black Family in America.

Fort Knox Office

The Fort Knox Office, located within the Army Continuing Education Center, provides educational opportunities to active duty military, their dependents and local residents of Fort Knox and the surrounding communities.

The Future Faculty Program

The Future Faculty Program provides opportunities for graduate students to explore various aspects of an academic career.

The Louisville Writing Project

The Louisville Writing Project improves students' writing skills, primary-through-college, by preparing teachers to mentor colleagues and work with students in both their own schools and in schools throughout their communities.

Minority Teacher Recruitment Project

Since 1985, the Minority Teacher Recruitment Project (MTRP) has been addressing the shortage of minority teachers in our nation's classrooms. the program is a partnership among CEHD, the Jefferson County Public Schools, and the schools of the Ohio Valley Cooperative. It focuses on recruiting minority teacher candidates who will strive to incorporate the values, learning styles and multiple cultural perspectives reflected in today's public schools.

Summer Portfolio Institute

The Summer Portfolio Institute is an enrichment program focusing on mathematics, writing, and technology for teachers and students.
