Other LWP Opportunities
The Louisville Writing Project is a network of over 500 teachers in a 10-county area. LWP provides collaborative professional development aligned with KERA and aimed at the improvement of writing performance and instruction at all levels. In addition to outreach programs such as the LWP summer institute, traveling mini-conference and demonstration sites, we offer the following:
- Fall and Winter Mini-Conferences: LWP teachers provide demonstrations of strategies that work with students, P-12.
- The LWP Advantage Class: 45-hour on-site PD for which P-12 teachers can earn 3 hours of graduate credit from the University of Louisville. Course focus varies according to teachers' expressed needs.
- LWP Open Institutes: 3-day summer workshops are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost is $200 per teacher.
- The LWP Rank I: A two-year program developed by Project teachers; focuses on literacy. For teachers who successfully complete the Summer Institute and are ready for even more intensive inquiry and leadership experiences.
