Jill Jacobi-Vessels, assistant professor, department of early childhood and elementary education.

Dr. Jill Jacobi-Vessels received her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis in early childhood education and her M.Ed. in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education at University of Louisville. She completed her bachelor's degree in Speech/Theatre and German, at Indiana University Southeast and the University of Hamburg, Germany.

Her experience includes six years working in the Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Research Center. Her research interests include early literacy intervention and its impact on later literacy development, preschool mathematics skill development, assessment and effectiveness of emergent curricula, and early childhood teacher preparation.

Dr. Jacobi-Vessels most recently held the position of Director, Early Learning Campus. She is excited to be part of the CEHD faculty because of its strong reputation in quality education preparation and research focus, and the opportunity to work in an urban setting.
