Publications & Resources

In the field of educational research, writing is a key method for researchers to share, discuss, and disseminate information. This section of our website is designed to share the work we have been doing at the ECRC and start a dialogue about the essential issues, topics, initiatives, and future directions needed in our field. We encourage you to join in the discussion on our Facebook page.

Newsletters

Twice a year we will prepare a newsletter summarizing current research in the field of early childhood education. If you are interested in receiving our newsletter by email, please contact us at ecrc @ louisville.edu.

For Parents & Teachers - - Research in Practice

It is our goal to make current research accessible to everyone so this section of our website will include what we call "research in practice" briefs. In each of these briefs you will find a summary of pertinent research on the topic written by an expert in the field. We would like your input on what topics you would like to see addressed in a brief! Please send an email to ecrc @ louisville.edu and let us know what you would like to know more about in the field of early childhood education.

Upcoming briefs in preparation:

  • Preparing for the transition from preschool to kindergarten
  • The read aloud – what does research say about the benefits?
  • Expanding mathematical opportunities for young children

Publications from ECRC Faculty

We are currently working on permission from various publishers to re-print articles from our affiliated faculty members related to their current research in early childhood education. Please stop back in December 2011 for an update and available journal articles.
