The Minority Teacher Scholarship is available to full-time minority students pursuing initial teacher certification at the University of Louisville. This scholarship is for $5,000 annually ($2,500 Fall; $2,500 Spring). (Refer to eligibility guidelines on the attached application.) Students must be admitted or qualify for admission to the University of Louisville at the time of application. Undergraduate and graduate students may apply.

The Minority Teacher Recruitment Scholarship is available only for students pursuing an initial teacher certification. For purposes of this scholarship program, "initial certification" shall be defined as 1) the first Kentucky teaching certificate in any area; and 2) an additional teaching certificate in an area or teaching specialty other than the area of specialty in which one is currently certified, if the applicant is NOT employed by a school district in Kentucky. The program shall not include academic pursuits designed or entered into for professional development or an increase in rank.
