Join the Kentucky Autism Training Center for a full day training "Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders and the Implementation of Evidence Based Practices." This training will be specifically geared toward meeting the needs of Mental Health Professionals, Family Resource Youth Service Center Coordinators, School Psychologists, School Counselors, and School Social Workers.  The training will guide participants through the steps of first identifying characteristics of autism spectrum disorders, participants will learn about evidence based practices for individuals with autism such as visual supports, task analysis, cognitive behavioral intervention, social narratives and exercise. Finally, workshop attendees will learn how to make recommendations based on the identified strengths and weaknesses of the individual with autism.


Learning Objectives:

1) Identify characteristics of autism spectrum disorder

2) Learn evidence based practices for students with autism

3) Learn and practice making intervention recommendations based on identifies strengths and weaknesses of students

Training Hours - 5.5 

The workshop will be presented by KATC Field Training Coordinators, Michelle Antle, Ed.S and Heidi Cooley-Cook.  


The registration fee for each workshop is:

$75 - For professionals and educators

$55 - Family members, full time students and instructional assistants.
