Barbara T. Lewis is the parent of a young adult man with Asperger's Syndrome who lives in Paducah, KY. Mrs. Lewis currently lives in eastern Jefferson County in Louisville where she works part-time as a Dental Hygienist. She is a member of the Autism Society of America, a past member of the Autism Society of Kentuckiana, and a long- time supporter of Easter Seals. She has served on the board of the Kentucky Autism Training Center for eight years.

In the past, Mrs. Lewis has worked with Vocational Rehabilitation and Easter Seals in Paducah to help her son obtain adult services and Supported Employment. In so doing, she tried to help these agencies have a better understanding of Autism and Asperger's Syndrome. She is currently advising her son (with the help of Carol Estes and Margaret Moreland) as he works with Vocational Rehab to obtain a grant to start a small business.
