Publications written by Debra cover many areas of the special education field including learning disabilities, general special education, and specialization in assistive technology. Recent publications include Assistive technology guidelines for Kentucky schools, Supported living in Kentucky and Assistive technology: Learning devices for special needs students and currently in preparation, Technology and Transition, a chapter in the forthcoming textbook, Transition Planning Across the Life Span, by Flexer, Simmons, Baer & Luft.

Committee membership included participation at the, Speech Proficiency Exam Committee, University of Louisville among others.

Debra is also coordinator of the Learning and Behavior Disorder Professional year program.
