Physical Activity Program

The Department of Health and Sport Sciences (HSS) coordinates the Physical Activity Programs as a non-degree service program for UofL students, staff and faculty. The goal of this program is to help individuals develop an appreciation and commitment to physical activity so they have the opportunity to live healthy lives.

The physical activity courses are taught for academic credit. Each course is worth one credit hour. The courses will provide instruction in rules, terminology, strategy, and skill development. The classes are taught in a manner designed to promote physical activity, lifetime fitness, wellness skills and aid in stress management. Other benefits associated with enrollment in the physical activity courses are opportunities to establish peer relationships, the chance to learn a new skill/activity, or refine and improve your ability levels in other health/sport related activities.

HSS provides a variety of courses in individual sports, team sports, dance, aquatics and martial arts.
