Research Interests

  • Gender differences, children adopted after infancy, psychological assessment, prejudice and stereotype, models of learning and critical thinking, Acquisition, psychology process & identity development of marginalized groups including gay/bisexual/transgender.
  • Use of the Internet for acquisition of skills by dental students. Collaborating with the University of Louisville Dental School.
  • Critical incidents in primary, secondary and post secondary schooling; impact on self concept and self concept.
  • Longitudinal research on the Acquisition of Critical Thinking in Health Occupations Curricula. Includes projects on the reliability and validity of the Watson-Glasser Critical Thinking Appraisal and the Cornell Critical Thinking Test and differential acquisition of critical thinking in middle school peer-mentoring programs.
