ECPY Doctoral Student Organization (DSO)
About the DSO
The Doctoral Student Organization (DSO) is a student-governed body with three primary purposes:
- Being the advocate for the students, bringing its collective voice to the department.
- Promoting participation in professional development and faculty-student interaction.
- Having fun by increasing socialization throughout the department.
Meet Some of the DSO Students
Monthly meetings allow an open student forum to discuss individual and departmental issues to ensure that the students are receiving all the tools they need for success. There are monthly faculty and student research presentations to better prepare participants for upcoming professional presentations, while also inducing empirical conversations across the diversity of the department. In addition, Fun Fridays are a chance to check out a local eatery and share a meal and/or brew with your teachers and fellow classmates. More activities for recruitment, interviews, new student orientations, volunteer opportunities, and many others are included throughout the year.
