The CEHD Dean Search Committee, in consultation with the search firm, has now completed the initial screening phase for applicants. The Committee will now continue on to the next phase of candidate evaluation.
Search Committee Meeting, Jan. 20, 2011
The Search Committee met with the search firm consultant and her assistant to discuss the list of candidates. A group was selected from the list for 'airport' interviews which are scheduled for the end of January. The Search Committee will have a one-hour interview with each candidate, and they are currently determining questions for the interviews.
Search Committee Meeting, Oct. 11, 2010
Dr. Shirley Willihnganz, University Provost and Executive Vice President, gave the College of Education and Human Development Dean Search Committee their charge. Dr. Willihnganz reminded the Search Committee the pool of candidates needs to be diverse. The Search Committee was also reminded that all meetings and discussion are confidential. Finally, Dr. Willihnganz thanked the faculty, staff, and student representatives for their time and service toward the search.
Dr. J. Blaine Hudson, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, will be the Chair of the Search Committee.
The committee's first task is reviewing the ad. The committee also began discussion about where to place the ad.
A sub‑committee was formed to make a recommendation on which search firm to use. The sub‑committee members are Mary Hums, Tom Tretter, and Mark Leach. They will have their recommendation to the Search Committee by the next meeting.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 8 ‑ 9 a.m. in Room 340, Gardiner Hall.

Faculty and staff nominations have been submitted and a search committee will be announced soon.
May 19, 2010
The search for a new dean will resume in fall 2010. Dr. Blake Haselton has agreed to serve as interim dean for the coming year.
