The College of Arts and Sciences Office for International, Diversity, and Outreach Programs is pleased to invite all to participate in a performance of The New Wilderness Project, an experiential and multimedia program focusing on the intersections of social justice, the environment, and community.
Date: Wednesday, April 4, 2012
Time: 12noon – 2 pm or 6 – 8 pm (repeat performances). Refreshments will be served at both events.
Location: Bingham Humanities, 100
Open to all and registration is not required.
The New Wilderness Project is co-directed by Maketa Wilborn and Benjie Howard, and is a partnership of educators and artists that focuses on social justice, stewardship for the environment and community development. Through multimedia performance art and an experientially delivered, integrated curriculum, their work builds awareness of diversity, develops cultural competence and leadership skills, supports equity in teaching and achievement, encourages stewardship for nature, and provides a framework for participants to take creative action.
