Study Abroad
Experience Other Cultures
As the world grows smaller and our countries’ economies intertwine, it is imperative that we learn to appreciate and be accepting of other cultures. U of L is preparing its students to efficiently navigate the global community in many ways. Varied programs coordinated through the International Center, for example, provide opportunities for U of L students to live and study in more than 30 countries around the world. U of L coordinates academic programs in China, Panama, Portugal, Trinidad, Canada and Tobago.
Study abroad staff also help students identify other qualified foreign educational programs that match their needs and interests. In addition, the Office of International Affairs administers two exchange scholarships for year-long programs in the Louisville Sister Cities of Montpellier, France and Mainz, Germany. A third exchange scholarship program is available in Osaka, Japan, through Kansai Gaidai University.
