The University of Louisville Board of Trustees voted to extend the appointment of School of Dentistry Dean John Sauk.

The board’s approval comes after committee reviews of the dean's performance over a five-year period.

“UofL’s School of Dentistry is among the most respected school in the country in its academic discipline,” said UofL President James Ramsey.  “Dean John Sauk has made it happen with great leadership, community partnerships and faculty members who are turning out some of the best professionals in their fields.”

Sauk’s accomplishments include renovation of the dental school, effective policies for recruiting and retaining faculty and staff and setting new records for donor gifts to the school. He has been the dental school's dean since 2007.
