Potempa lab science implicates bacterial pathogen in brains of Alzheimer’s patients

New research from the laboratory of Jan Potempa demonstrates that the bacteria Porphyromonas gingivalis is present in the brains of patients with Alzheimer's Dementia. Importantly, the discovery points to possible therapeutic interventions to help patients by blocking pathogenic enzymes secreted by the bacteria.
