Background
Educated at the University of Denver (undergraduate) with a B.A. in Anthropology (1980), Dr. Virag subsequently attended the University of Kentucky College of Dental Medicine, earning D.M.D. 1984.  Dr. Virag practiced General Dentistry privately for two years.  At the University of Minnesota,  Dr. Virag completed his residency program in Periodontics, earning a Post-Doctorate Master’s Degree in Dentistry for Periodontics (1988)  Following  years of private practice in Periodontics, (including  service for displaced Alaskan Native populations and the homeless) Dr. Virag is currently active in academic Dentistry earning the American Academy of Periodontology Educator Award for multiple years.
