UofL School of Dentistry - Book in Common Project
Dental and dental hygiene students will take part in the UofL School of Dentistry - Book in Common Project Wed. August 29 from 2:10p.m. - 5p.m. at Kornhauser Health Sciences Library and Commons Auditorium - 55D.
There will be a discussion of the book, "The Other Wes Moore." The goal is to help students learn more about themselves and the world around them as they explore diverse ways of thinking and being.
For a second year, UofL is using this very well-received text by Wes Moore. Themes of resiliency, decision-making, identity, and expectations are woven throughout this story about two young men with the same name who grow up in the same hometown and end up on vastly different life paths. Moore, the author, became a Rhodes Scholar, Army combat veteran and White House Fellow. The other Moore is serving a life sentence in prison.
This book offers UofL students a deep and lasting set of ideas to ponder.
