Dental School to host Art & Health Event

Boat Art Fear and anxiety are often cited as reasons for avoiding the dentist. Integrating art into dental offices can help patients feel relief from some of these emotions.

The UofL School of Dentistry, a member of the Society for Arts in Healthcare, is hosting an event March 18 from 5pm-7pm, where original works of art created by female artists will be on display at the school, 501 S. Preston St.

"March was an ideal month to host an event like this - it gives us an opportunity to celebrate Women's History through the contributions of female dentists and female artists," said Deborah Wade, event coordinator.

Attendees also will enjoy free food and drinks while learning about the importance of proper oral health at the informational and health screening booths.

The event is free and open to UofL faculty, staff and students. Enter from the new east facing entrance and take the elevator to the second floor.
