Program Description

The University of Louisville School of Dentistry considers students partners in learning and strives to provide each with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the challenges of the dental profession.

Many ULSD graduates choose to practice general dentistry. Others opt to continue their education in a specialty program, dental research or the military. A combined D.M.D./M.S. in Oral Biology program is available.

The University of Louisville D.M.D. program is four years in length. Our normal entering class size is approximately 80 students: 44 Kentucky residents and 36 non-residents. The average age of the 2006 entering class is 24, ranging in age from 21 to 38.

Although the characteristics of a given class change from year to year, the following information for the years 1998 through 2006 provide an indication of the profile for each first year class.
