Program Description

The University of Louisville School of Dentistry considers students partners in learning and strives to provide each with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the challenges of the dental profession.

Many ULSD graduates choose to practice general dentistry. Others opt to continue their education in a specialty program, dental research or the military. Combined D.M.D./M.S. in Oral Biology and DMD/Ph.D. programs are available. For more information on these, call 502-852-5081.

The University of Louisville D.M.D. program is four years in length. Beginning in Fall 2010, class size will increase to 120 students: 44 Kentucky residents and 76 non-residents. The average age of the 2009 entering class is 24, ranging in age from 21 to 33.

Although the characteristics of a given class change from year to year, the following information for the years 2003 through 2008 provide an indication of the profile for each first year class.
