Blackboard Basics
Blackboard is an integral part of the instructional process at UofL. Each semester, nearly one-third of all courses taught at the university have an active Blackboard presence. Some professors use Blackboard to simply store course materials, while others create fully-online course environments.
The Delphi Center is pleased to provide the training you need to create and manage your online course presence.
Blackboard Basics I: Getting Started (45 minutes)
Blackboard Basics provides the foundational skills to use UofL's course management system. Using Blackboard fosters increased student interaction with the instructor as well as each other. It affords the opportunity to enhance lectures with engaging activities and provides a means to organize and post materials for students to access anytime, anywhere. You'll learn to login and navigate the system both as a student and instructor; work within the control panel and add announcements in the first seminar.

Grade Center Made Easy: An Overview of Features and Usability (45 minutes)
Come take a look at the features you requested! You can learn how the new Grade Center allows you to exempt a grade for an individual student. Learn how to drop highest and lowest grades automatically just by weighting by category. Did you ever ask yourself "How can I see when the student submitted the assignment or test after I have graded the material?" In Grade Center there is now a grade History that keeps track of every change to a graded column even if you clear the assignment or exam! Also you can create and print grade reports for the students in your class just by using a few clicks and some text boxes. The reports will generate with page breaks so when you print each students' report will be on a separate sheet. You can now email your students directly from the Grade Center. If you want to email a student as soon as you have graded and assignment you don't have to leave the Grade Center to do it.
