The Kentucky Student Success Summit, sponsored by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, provides faculty, staff and administrators an opportunity to learn from leading student success experts and to engage in stimulating discussions with colleagues from across the state. The summit features nationally recognized experts who share evidence-based best practices to promote student learning and retention.

Limited conference spaces are available free to University of Louisville faculty and staff. Apply to attend the 2018 Student Success Summit by completing the form below. The deadline to apply is March 9. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees will be selected from submitted applications and notified by Friday, March 16.

Conversations regarding student success often focus on how well students are prepared for college. focus on ensuring Kentucky's postsecondary system delivers on its promise for educational quality, completion, and accessibility, as well as strategies to engage non-traditional adult students. Dr. McPherson, co-chair of the Commission on the Future of of Undergraduate Education and the president emeritus of the Spencer Foundation, will spend the first day of the summit exploring a three-part strategy to ensure Kentucky's postsecondary system is delivering on its promise of educational quality and completion.

  1. Students have high-quality learning experiences.
  2. Institutions increase their overall completion rates and reduce inequities among student groups.
  3. College costs are controlled.

Judy Genshaft, Ph.D.

Dr. Judy Genshaft, president of the University of South Florida, will also present on the first day of the summit. Genshaft will present how big data and analytics can be utilized to transform institutional culture, with the ultimate goal of raising retention and graduation rates.

The second day of the summit will feature Sarah Ancel, senior vice president of Complete College America. Ancel will provide strategies for public colleges and universities to better engage and support non-traditional adult students as part of Kentucky's goal to raise educational attainment to 60 percent by 2030.
