Teaching is critical for good student learning (Bain, 2012) and student learning is critical to student success (Kuh, 2018).

This half-day teaching orientation is designed to encourage, stimulate, and support professional growth around teaching for UofL Part-Time Faculty (PTL). Join us as we share essential skills and resources designed to help you get a jump start on the fall semester.

As a result of attending, you will be able to:

  1. Describe essential knowledge about teaching in the UofL classroom.
  2. Access basic resources in our Blackboard Learning System.
  3. Identify campus resources to support your teaching and student success.
  4. Become acquainted with UofL students.
  5. Identify 2-3 ideas about learning theory concepts to inform your course design.
