The theme for the university’s annual teaching conference this year is Caring for Our Community. We are facing immense challenges: a global pandemic, social justice and racial inequities in our community, and unprecedented changes to how we teach and reach our students.

The Cardinal Principle of Community of Care reminds us to be mindful and respectful of the struggles our students and colleagues are facing, but also to work toward building an antiracist institution were everyone is valued, included, and offered the opportunity to thrive and succeed. This is something we do, not just something we are.

Moderated Conversation with Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum and President Neeli Bendapudi

Join us for a timely conversation between President Neeli Bendapudi and Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum, president emerita of Spelman College and author of the national bestseller: Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria? And Other Conversations about Race.

Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum is a clinical psychologist widely known for both her expertise on race relations and as a thought leader in higher education. Dr. Tatum’s visit advances university-wide conversations about inclusive pedagogy, diversity, and inclusion in support of the university’s strategic plan and the Cardinal Anti-Racism Agenda.
