A "Wiki" is a synergetic tool used to allow members of a group to collaborate online when creating web pages, documents, or other types of media. Now available, this tool not only allows students to collectively create as a team online, but empowers the instructor with assessment details such as student submissions and percentage of participation within the group. Within each course or organization in Blackboard, a default class Wiki tool is available. General or group specific Wikis may also be created in content areas. Configuring the class Wiki, or creating Wikis is necessary before editing can be successfully started.

Using Blogs in Blackboard
"Blog" (an abbreviation of the phrase “weB LOG”) is simply a term used to describe an online journal. This helpful tool can be used to foster self-expression, organization of thought, and creativity, and now blogs are available in Blackboard! With this easy-to-use-tool, a default course-wide blog can be made readily available in your course or organization. Additionally, any number of private journals or group blogs can be deployed in content areas. You can then choose to allow students to share comments with others, as well export their blogs to keep beyond Blackboard. For more specific information, select from the following:
