Preparedness Plans

The following plans are provided by DEHS to assist in the environmental emergency preparedness of UofL faculty and staff.

Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans

SPCC Plans require facilities that store oil products to establish procedures to prevent the discharge of oil into or upon waters of the United States. SPCC Plans are required by the USEPA under the Clean Water Act.

Hazardous Materials Use and Spill Prevention Control (HMPC) Plans

(HMPC) Plans require facilities that manufacture, use or store hazardous materials in excess of designated quantities to prepare a plan stating how the business will respond to spills or discharges of these materials. HMPC Plans are required by Louisville and Jefferson County under a 1985 ordinance.
