Weather Emergencies

We all look forward to sunny days with light breezes, but we must also prepare to act when weather exhibits the forces of nature on our home, campus buildings and transportation. This page has information pertaining to all of the different types of weather that we might see during an academic year.

The University of Louisville has been struck by tornadoes twice in the last ten years, a hurricane hit the campus in 2008, extensive flooding occurred in 2009 and in 2011, the campus had a thunderstorm that caused flooding and lightning from the same storm stared a fire in one of the apartment complexes nearby that houses university students.

The page will serve as the "go to" location to find out everything about weather preparedness and response to weather events.
