NASA is coming to Louisville, November 8-12, 2004!

Professional development workshop for educators. Thursday, Nov. 11, 5 - 8 pm

Workshop about running after-school astronomy clubs. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2 - 4 pm

Kentuckiana schools are invited to an exciting all-day school fieldtrip associated with the 36th Annual Meeting of the Division for Planetary Sciences (DPS) of the American Astronomical Society, Nov 8-12, 2004. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime event as NASA and the world's Solar System exploration scientists make their first visit to metro Louisville.

The fieldtrip includes the three exciting venues shown below on Monday Nov. 8, Tuesday Nov. 9, Thursday Nov. 11, and Friday Nov. 12. On Wednesday Nov. 10, the package does not include the IMAX theater movie show. Please plan your visit and book accordingly.

09:30 - 10:20 am: The Louisville Science Center's IMAX theater showing of the movie SPACE STATION

10:40 - 11:00 am: Lunch at the Convention Center (Conference site). Students bring sack lunches.

11:00 - Noon: NASA/JPL Kid's Corner and Exhibits at the DPS conference.

12:30 - 01:20 pm: The Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium's showing of HUBBLE HERITAGE

The total cost of the complete fieldtrip (three venues) is $10 per student and $1 per chaperone (chaperones are required for every 10 students). Each additional chaperone, beyond the required number, pays $10 per person. (The price for the reduced field trip offered Wednesday Nov. 10 is just $5 per student.)
