Anger

Managing anger involves getting your anger reactions to work constructively for you, rather than against you.

  • Clarify the Situation for Yourself.
    "What am I upset about?"
    "What do I want?"
"Is this really something to be angry about?"
"What can I do about the situation?"
  • Avoid Negative Self-Talk.
"People shouldn't treat me this way!"
    "I hate this!"
  • Increase Positive Self-Talk.
"It's okay; sometimes, people make mistakes."
"It's okay not to get my way sometimes."
"This is frustrating, but I can accept it."
