Eligibility: All currently enrolled University of Louisville students may use the Center's services.
Services: We provide individual counseling, group counseling, and referral services. We will also provide couples counseling if both individuals are currently enrolled students. In addition, we will conduct mediation for students who are experiencing some kind of non-academic personal dispute with other students or with faculty/staff.
Appointments: Appointments are made by calling the Counseling Center at 852-6585, or stopping by the office. Our hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday.
If you would like more information or have a specific request, please stop by the office and talk with one of our receptionists. Printed materials are available about our services, your rights and responsibilities as a client at the Center, and about various mental health topics.
Online students who need assistance should contact our office to arrange for services.
Confidentiality: We respect students' privacy, so all communication within the Center is confidential, with a few exceptions. These exceptions are:
- when the information relates to clear and imminent danger to an individual,
- when a state law requires the reporting of information (threats of violence, child abuse or neglect), and
- when information is requested by court order. Any disclosure in these situations will be made to an appropriate authority and will be limited to material directly pertinent to the issue involved.
Please note that we will not release any information obtained through interviews, counseling sessions, or any testing results without the written permission of a client.
