SPIF Grants
The Signature Partnership Initiative Faculty Grant (SPIF) is an initiative to foster UofL faculty and staff initiatives within the west Louisville community. This grant mechanism will focus on infrastructure development, research and non-research projects which hold a community participatory action perspective. A total of $25,000 is available for the 2008-2010 academic years. Priority will be given to projects that demonstrate multidisciplinary collaboration. All grant applications will require a west Louisville community collaborator (individual, group or organization) to be competitive.
Applications must identify and address one or more of the Signature Partnership focus areas.
Timeline is as follows:
- Grant announcement - Friday, December 19, 2008
- Application deadline - Friday, April 17, 2009
- Selection of winners - Friday, May 8, 2009
Winners will be required to attend the Tuesday, May 26, 2009 University Community Partnership Advisory Board meeting for official announcement of the award.
Faculty are encouraged to consider the interest & needs of the community as identified by the Signature Partnership Resident Advisory Council at their strategic planning retreat held on November 1, 2008.
