The life, times and work of American Architect and Designer William J. Dodd (1862 - 1930) traces the period of great building innovations in the Midwest and California from the great Chicago fire to creation of the American Mt. Olympus of Hollywood and the crash of the American stock market. Among the most important architects in the building history of Louisville and Los Angeles, Dodd's residential, commercial and ecclesiastical designs in Chicago, Louisville and Los Angeles are examined through slides of external and internal details, historical newspaper descriptions and collected anecdotes.
