GEAR UP Kentucky

GEAR UP Kentucky is designed to help 200,000 disadvantaged children prepare for and gain a pathway to undergraduate collegiate programs.  GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) will help open doors of undergraduate programs to all low-income students. 

GEAR UP Kentucky focuses on five priority areas:

  • College Awareness
  • Rigorous curricula
  • Increased access to college through scholarships
  • Engagement of parents
  • Student support

 

GEAR UP Kentucky is located in the following Jefferson County schools:

  • Iroquois Middle School
  • Lassiter Middle School
  • Thomas Jefferson Middle School
  • Fairdale High School
  • Iroquois High School
  • Southern High School
