C. Peter Magrath University/Community Engagement Award
Since 2006, the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (A.P.L.U.) and the National Outreach Scholarship Conference, with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, have partnered to recognize the outreach and engagement partnerships of four-year public universities. The award program seeks to identify colleges and universities that have redesigned their learning, discovery, and engagement functions to become even more involved with their communities.
Awards
The engagement award program consists of two awards:
The Outreach Scholarship/W.K. Kellogg Foundation Engagement Awards are presented annually each fall during the National Outreach Scholarship Conference. Five regional awards are presented and recipients move on to compete for the national award. The award includes a certificate and a $6,000 prize.
The C. Peter Magrath University/Community Engagement Award is presented during the A.P.L.U. Annual Meeting and includes a trophy and a $20,000 prize. The national award is named for C. Peter Magrath, A.P.L.U. President from 1992 to 2005.
