Time and Place and Requirements
TIME AND PLACE
The December 2009 University-wide Commencement Ceremony will begin with the Processional at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2009, at the Kentucky International Convention Center (KICC). The Processional lineup will be in rooms 207-211 on the second floor of KICC. The University-wide commencement ceremony will be in Hall C/D on the second floor.
Prior to the Processional lineup, President James R. Ramsey will host a reception in the Cascade Ballroom on the main level of KICC.
The December 2009 School of Interdisciplanary and Graduate Studies Doctoral Hooding and Graduation Ceremony for PhD's and AuD's will begin at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009, in Comstock Hall, School of Music, Belknap Campus.
REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE
To participate in the December 2009 University-wide Ceremony, you must do all of the following:
· Graduate at the end of the Summer term or Fall semester 2009.
· File an approved online application for a degree. File your application for a degree on ULink. For questions, see Diplomas or call the Registrar's Office 502~852~7325 or 502~852-6522.
· Order your cap and gown. Order your cap and gown by selecting Cap and Gowns Student Orders in the menu to the left. The deadline to order apparel is October 31 at midnight.
· Attend rehearsal. All students attending the University-wide ceremony are required to attend rehearsal on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the Kentucky International Convention Center. The rehearsal will cover the processional and other student concerns, name call cards will be handed out, and your place in the lineup will be confirmed.
NOTE: If you are not graduating until the Spring semester 2010, you cannot participate in the December ceremony. Name listing in the Program Book is generated from the approved degree list. Name call cards and lineup/seating arrangements are generated from the cap and gown order list. The cap and gown order list will be verified against the approved degree list. If you order a cap and gown and are not eligible to graduate, the order may be canceled and a credit issued before the October 31 deadline. Information on the May 2010 ceremony will be available from this web site in late January 2010.
