Diversity Programming Application

PLEASE NOTE for FY 2023-24, the Diversity Programing Committee has set a limit of $500.00 for funds requested from CODRE.

The purpose of the Diversity Programming Committee is to identify and/or support programming for staff, faculty and students who promote diversity initiatives and social justice as multi-faceted endeavors that enhance and strengthen the campus climate as it relates to issues of diversity through educational experiences, on and off campus.

All members of the university community are eligible to apply for funds. Preference will be given to those requests that enhance the understanding and appreciation of diversity within the university community. If a Recognized Student Organization (RSO) is requesting funding, they must be in good standing to be eligible for funds.

DEI Student Leader Award 

The purpose of the DEI Student Leader Award is to honor a current undergraduate or graduate student, post-bac or post-doctoral fellow for their contributions to UofL's goals for advancing diversity, equity and inclusion including efforts to build an anti-racist campus community.

The UofL Diversity Programming Committee of the Commission on Diversity & Racial Equity (CODRE) encourages members of the UofL campus community to nominate students who are active in diversity, equity and inclusion work. Each nominee must be a current UofL student, have contributed to the areas of community leadership, advocacy, as well as to the activities of CODRE. Self-nominations are accepted.

Commissioner of the Year Award

The purpose of the Commissioner of the Year Award is to honor a current commissioner or associate who has served within the past six months, who has gone the extra mile to support UofL's Commission on Diversity & Racial Equity (CODRE) and its mission, and who has demonstrated excellence in advocating for diversity, equity and inclusion.

The UofL Diversity Programming Committee of CODRE encourages members of CODRE to nominate a current commissioner or associate member for this award. Each nominee must have contributed to the areas of community leadership, advocacy, as well as to the activities of CODRE. Self-nominations are accepted.

Undergraduate and Graduate Research Fund | Deadline: Ongoing 

The request for this funding initiative focuses on the support of UofL students conducting research. Research that focuses on diversity, equity, inclusion, antiracism and minority populations will receive preference. Any student research project submitted for funding must have UofL faculty supervision and appropriate institutional approval. Research projects may come from any discipline. It is recommended that all applicants for this fund review the UofL Commission on Diversity and Racial Equity (CODRE) webpage for details. Students can apply for up $500.00.

Applicants may be funded one time only, and the funding period may not exceed one year. At the completion of the research, awardees will be responsible for the dissemination of research outcomes at the University of Louisville Research Symposium and during a designated CODRE general body meeting. A written report of the completed project to CODRE will be required. Presentations at local, state or national meetings and venues are encouraged.
