The university celebration doesn't mark the end of the Challenge.
U of L is ready to accomplish the final Challenge goal, attaining NCI Cancer Center designation. The application for that standing is complete and ready to be submitted this fall.
U of L will continue to work to strengthen the Challenge areas, but it already has set its sights on the future.
The university celebration doesn't mark the end of the Challenge.
President James Ramsey is meeting with faculty throughout the Challenge period. Meetings with students, staff, alumni, legislators and friends of the university are planned.
Meanwhile, a strategic planning committee is being formed to help shape future goals. A branding committee will soon kick into gear, helping shape key messages. The result will be a strategic plan and a branding campaign to be launched by fall 2007.
Shortly after that time, probably in 2008, the university plans to launch a capital campaign—the goal has not been determined.
President Ramsey will discuss his vision for the university at the State of the Union Address Oct. 11.
