The Goals

Have 75 endowed chairs and professorships in key fields

U of L has increased the number of its endowed chairs and professorships from 54 in 1999 to 121 today, far exceeding its original goal.  Kentucky’s “Bucks for Brains” program, which has provided state funds to match private donations, has effectively doubled the impact of private investment supporting research in strategically defined areas. The program has enabled the university to recruit and retain world-renowned faculty members to work alongside its existing outstanding faculty.
