You do the math: Healthy Minds + Healthy Bodies = Healthy Students
Parkland Neighborhood Improvement Association in partnership with UK Cooperative Extension Program, Network Center for Community Change, UofL Center for Environmental Policy & Management, Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness and the Mayor's Healthy Hometown Movement is hosting this event to celebrate the beginning of this new school year! As you know, community gardens help to address healthy living, food security, urban agriculture, creating safe neighborhoods and building community through volunteer service. Volunteers from numerous groups will be building children's raised beds in the Garden on Friday. As part of the event, several food trucks will be on hand and the Root Cellar will be there with its Root Mobile. A DJ will be playing family-friendly music and the Louisville Free Public Library will bring its bookmobile.
