Description: On Tuesday, May 8, 3:00-4:00 Eastern, please join EPA's Office of Sustainable Communities, Kathy Callies, Acting President of the Rural Learning Center (RLC), and Randy Parry, RLC's former President, to learn how Howard, SD, a community of 850 residents, came together to revitalize its local economy. The community's vision and drive resulted in construction of the LEED Platinum Maroney Commons, which includes a restaurant, hotel, fitness center, and conference center that serves as a training center for the region on green jobs and rural health care. The webinar will include a discussion of what other communities can learn from Howard's experience.

Description: KIPDA is “Rethinking Transportation” as they develop the Metropolitan Transportation Plan, and are holding a number of public meetings we hope you attend to let us know what your transportation experiences are like. This is a great opportunity to let your voice be heard. We need ideas, dreams, suggestions, and general input from everyone in our five-county area so that we can create a transportation plan that serves our residents, businesses and visitors alike. You are welcome to attend any of the meetings – just pick the one that is the most convenient for you to attend. The meetings follow an open house format, so you can come by anytime between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on the dates and at the locations listed below.
