The University of Louisville’s Middle East and Islamic Studies program invites you to a screening of the award-winning documentary Out of Córdoba: Averroes and Maimonides in Their Time and Ours, directed by filmmaker and interfaith consultant Jacob Bender. Out of Córdoba follows the lives of two leading intellectuals of medieval Islamic Spain, Averroes (Ibn Rushd) the Muslim and Rabbi Moses Maimonides the Jew, exploring their relevance for contemporary relations between Muslims, Jews, and Christians. A discussion with the director will follow the screening.
