What is U-FIT?
U-FIT is a program for students to either begin their journey to fitness, or to take their current fitness to a new level. U-FIT offers a multitude of services such as: FitTest & Coaching, Certified Personal Training, Fitness Consultations, Newsletters, Workshops, and other services that allow you to meet and stay connected with other students.


U-FIT Services
FitTest & Coaching

Description: A student-to-student service that will help you determine your current fitness level, develop an exercise routine for you, and coach you on how to properly follow the workout regimen created for you. Whether the goal is to start working out for the first time, boost up a current exercise regimen, or get back in shape, fitness interns and volunteers are available to provide one-on-one testing and coaching! Fitness Assessments will consist of: blood pressure check, resting heart rate, height, weight, body composition profile, flexibility test, cardiovascular test, and upper body muscular endurance test.

Included with the fee:
  • Fitness Testing
  • Fitness Results
  • T-shirt
  • Personalized Workout Plan
  • Fit coaching to help you get started, and then stay on track!

Fee: $10

Certified Personal Training

Description: With the assistance of a certified trainer, it is much easier to reach your fitness goals. This 10-Day service will give you all the tools you will need. There is limited availability, so sign-up now!

Fee: $15/hour, or $100 for 10/1-hour sessions. (1-3 students per session).

Note: Must have done a "FitTest & Coaching" session to use this service.

Fitness Consultations

Description: Do you want to start exercising, but do not know how to begin? Do you want to know what increases your running speed? Do you want to know if what you read online about weight lifting is correct? We can help you find the answers to these questions with our consultations. Consultations are held – with a certified Personal Trainer – either face-to-face, via e-mail, or by phone. We are here to provide you with an on-campus source to get your fitness questions answered!

Fee: FREE

FitNews

Description: A monthly newsletter will be provided to students detailing what’s going on around the world, state, and campus when it comes to fitness. If you are interested in receiving a newsletter, like our facebook “University of Louisville’s U-FIT”, or ask about it at the office of Health Promotion.

FitSocials

Description: Exercise can be a lot more enjoyable when you are working out with others. To plan FitSocials, we will record your name, e-mail address, and your top fitness goal. We will then use that information to connect you with others that have the same goal you have. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded people, talk about progress, and find new friends to workout with!

FitWorkshops

Description: The fitness industry is a forever changing world, so with our FitWorkshops, we can help you stay up-to-date. FitWorkshops will provide you with the skills to give your workouts an extra boost, as well as more workout options.

We are available on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Here are your options for signing up for U-FIT's "FitTest & Coaching" service.

  • Come to the Health Promotion office (located in building between SAC and Houchens), and we'll give you the paperwork to fill out.

How do I join the U-FIT staff (Volunteer/Internship)

Position Available: FitCoach

Responsibilities Include:

FitTest & Coaching

Interns/Volunteers will get a multitude of experience from being a part of the U-FIT staff. Interns/Volunteers will get hands-on experience with chatting and recording information from clients and exercise programming under the supervision of a certified Personal Trainer. This position consists of taking a client to the gym and coaching him/her on how to properly utilize the exercise program personally made for him/her.

Space is limited, so if you are truly passionate about physical fitness and helping others achieve their goals, apply now!

FitSocials

As a “FitCoach”, you will have the opportunity to lead FitSocial events. You will lead a meeting for people that have similar goals, direct them in the discussion of topics such as personal progress and goals, then go to the gym to exercise together. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people!
