What is BRICC?
The Building Resiliency in Campus Community (BRICC) Coalition includes staff, faculty, students and regional community members. The BRICC Coalition'€™s efforts to increase resiliency and reduce high risk drinking and substance use are targeted at multiple level strategies: individual, group, organization and the broader community. The BRICC Coalition is housed at the University of Louisville and presently has 120 individual members.
Our Vision
We envision a resilient campus and community free from high risk drinking and substance use.
Our Mission
To provide leadership in advancing policies, programs, resources and experiences that increase resiliency and reduce high risk drinking and substance use in the campus and community.
Research
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) recommends that colleges and universities adopt a three-part strategy to reduce student drinking:
  • Campus-Community Coalitions
  • Campus-Wide Alcohol Abuse Prevention Efforts
  • Individual Alcohol Prevention Programs offered to students either one-on-one, in groups or via the internet.
University of Louisville's (U of L) Building Resiliency In Campus Community (BRICC) Coalition is coordinating the efforts for all three of these to build resilience on campus and in our community.

BRICC collaborates with campus and community partners developing a strategic plan to increase resiliency and streamline initiatives and resources.
