Primary Care Health Fee
All students without health insurance who are enrolled for greater than 6.5 hours will be charged the $100 campus primary care health fee which provides primary care services. Students who have health insurance may elect to pay the fee for their primary care services.
The Primary Health Fee provides:
- Unlimited routine office visits for health maintenance, physicals, blood pressure checks
- Gynecological exams (does not cover outside laboratory charges for pap smear to be read)
- Urgent medical office visits for acute illnesses
- Annual surveillance TB skin testing and influenza immunizations once matriculated
- Post-exposure evaluation, and testing for exposures to blood-borne pathogens such as HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C including prophylactic medications when prescribed by the health service
- Annual tuberculosis testing
- Low cost generic medications dispensed out of the health office
- Low cost birth control pills
- Discounted pharmaceuticals through the UofL Hospital Outpatient Patient Benefits Program*
- Allergy injections
- Phlebotomy services (lab and x-ray fees are paid by patient or patient insurance)
- In-office lab tests such as strep, flu, pregnancy, urinalysis
