Come and EXPLORE BRAZIL

June 6 – July 2, 2019

Katia Saunders
One of the best summers of my life. I feel very lucky and blessed to experienced what I did in Brazil and to have the friendships Ive made. Living in a dorm gave me a better understanding for the culture and together with students from UNESP, zamba, churrascarias, caipirinhas and Christ the Redeemer I found my true Brazilian self and it felt like I was right at home. In a heart beat, I'd do it again.

Emily Bratton
Studying in Brazil was the highlight of my graduate career. I was able to examine and experience a rich culture that was so unique from my own while also forming lifelong relationships with wonderful people I would have otherwise never met. I grew so much during my time there and am very eager to go back!

Rosa Escalante:
Brazil was a wonderful experience: the people were amazing. I  created deep and close relationship with the children at Escola Viva. and all the people down there. They treat me like family  and they have a special space in my heart. I hope I will go back again.

Alex Cooper
This was probably one of the highlights of my college career: to experience someone else's culture and open my mind up to the world.

Pat Ridge
The hospitality I received from fellow Brazilian students and teachers allowed me to have a wonderful cultural encounter. and incredible memories that  I will have for the rest of my life.

THE PROGRAM

Program Participants will have a great opportunity to become acquainted first hand with Brazilian culture, a mix of influences from the Portuguese, the Africans, Western Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Program participants will experience its rich tradition in music, food, dance, art, and religion and will study how current day Brazilian culture developed from combining the autochthonous and the traditions brought from abroad.

LOCATION
